“When one is a child, one learns not to see disability and thus the circle of invisibly starts.” With these words, Pamela Molina started the first seminar on the frame of the OEA_ORITEL Program of Promotion of Inclusive Education in the Americas. The Activity took place in Asuncion on September 18th and 19th.

Miss Molina who is a is a Magister on Disability and on Human development, Lectured on the paradigms and the perspective of disability from the point of view of patients and of citizens.

The Paraguayan researcher and magister on social psychology,  Rudy Elias and the Paraguayan psychologist, teacher and researcher on assistance to people with disabilities Claudia Pacheco  , the previous  minister of the SENADIS and of the Inclusive Education Department, Rocio Florentin , Diego Samaniego and other Ministry of Education and Science authorities lectured during the seminar.

Teachers, families and student with and with no disabilities attended the activities.

The OAS Ambassador in Paraguay, Diego Paz Bustamante, the Oritel Executive Director, Veronica Rattin, the Executive Director of the Paraguay Telethon Foundation, Andres Silva, and The Minister of SENADIS, Diego Samaniego and the Ministry of Education and Science authorities were present in the opening ceremony of the seminar.

Veronica Rattin expressed: ” This first Inclusive Education Seminar is a symbol of the road we have decided to take to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in a region as ours where unfortunately discrimination and lack of opportunities still exist” :” This seminar has gathered well known specialists on disability who have travelled all over the world not only  to share their knowledge , their trainings and their efficient models of management  but also to show us  shortcomings and situations that challenge us as supportive human beings and make us reflect on what concerns the correct actions to take on our effort to correct all trace of inequality and of segregation” she added.
